This sheet (and another - coming soon!) were born of a broken heart. After spending the entire first couple months of school breaking down numbers and talking about decimal place value, my students were stumped on a basic decomposing decimals with number bonds fluency activity.
This sheet was used as a review of decimal skills (decomposing, adding and subtracting, and basic number-sense).
The first two rows in the first section contain leveled problems to guide their thinking before getting into more complex decomposition in the following rows:
row 1 example: There are ___ tens in 100
row 2 example: There are ___ dimes in $1.00
row 3 example: .700 contains ___ tenths
rows 4 and 5 example: 1.85 contains ____ hundredths
There is a short 4-question adding and subtracting decimals section.
The final section is a decomposing decimal number bond (full sheet of decimal number bonds coming soon).
