"Grin" is a fun math game which can also be used by individual players as a center activity. This game is for one to three players that gives fun practice with using base ten to decompose numbers 11 to 19. The very simple, but fun game format makes it a game your learners will want to play over and over. I have a few games with the same format in Valentine, St. Patrick's Day and Spring Eggs (Easter) theme. Once your kids learn the game, they can play any of these without further instruction on how to play.
To play, each player has their own game board and a set of game cards. The game cards are cut and placed in their own paper lunch bag. On their turn, each player picks out a card and matches it to the corresponding tooth on their game board. If they get a "Grin" card, the make a big grin on their own face and get to take an extra turn! If they get a cavity card, they say, "Oh, no! A cavity!" and have to put one card back in the bag. The first player to cover their game board wins! Tons of fun!
Can be printed in color or black and white. (Note that my pencil coloring is easy on your printer!)
Prep required: Mount game boards on a colorful pieces of construction paper or slip in sheet protector. Cut game pieces, one set for each player.
