Decomposing Numbers - A hands-on introduction to prime factorization
This product requires colored Linking Cubes to implement. Students snap together cubes to compose and decompose numbers into their prime factors. Problems increase in difficultly level which decreases the possibility of guessing correct answers. Students enjoy the hands-on aspect of using the linking cubes to represent numbers.
Page 2 takes the students from the concrete and representational to the abstract idea of calculating prime factorization. Students are required to explain their strategy from the linking cubes section and then apply the same concept to the abstract questions.
