•Make copies of the workmats and laminate them or put them in a page protector.
•Give students a workmat, the corresponding recording sheet and the required number of small objects. The students then place the object in one of the two frames on the workmat and write the amounts on the recording sheet to complete the equations.
•For student working on counting objects, give them the workmats with one frame and a supply of small objects to count and place on the workmat. They can check their work by matching their objects to the flowers on the top of the workmat.
