Decorate a Christmas Tree Math Story Problems 1
Students will have fun decorating an outdoor Christmas tree as they practice using all four math operations to solve these word problems. As they go through this activity, ornaments are added to the tree until it is festively decorated.
Decorate a Christmas Tree 1 includes 21 one story problems. It also includes a student answer sheet, and a teacher answer key. Each question has answer choices included on each slide, and students can select an answer by clicking on one of those choices. When they make their selection, the slide will reveal if they have answered the story problem correctly. This can be used individually, in small groups or centers, and/or as a whole class.
Helpful hint: use as a fun way to give a test – with the teacher running the game but not clicking on the answers. Click on the “Return to ornaments” link to go to the next question. Each problem is numbered allowing the students to record their answers on a student answer sheet (included). The answer sheet provides space for students to draw pictures to show their work. A teacher answer key (also included) gives the solution for each problem. The answer sheet and answer key are the last two slides, but will not appear when running the activity in Slide Show mode. They can be printed from the default open mode when starting up PowerPoint.
