Make working with Fractions fun by decorating some baked goods. This resource has been designed to help students develop an understanding of fractions in a yummy way. With two differentiated sets of the three bakery fraction worksheets, you can choose to keep it simple or challenge your kids.
Worksheet one - Brownie Decorating
Worksheet two - Cupcake Decorating
Worksheet three - Cake Decorating
Choose and print between:
The LEVEL 1 set of worksheets pg 4-6
The LEVEL 2 set of worksheets pg 7-10
Or use BOTH to DIFFERENTIATE within your classroom
The two levels look identical, however, the fractions given in the Level 1 set all follow the same denominator. The denominator represents the total number of slices, cupcakes or number of cake decorations in a non-simplified fraction form. Great for introducing fractions or beginner work.
The Level 2 set uses fractions in a simplified form, so student understanding of equivalency with fractions is necessary to complete the tasks.
