Defending the Castle is a Medieval-themed, interactive Equivalent Fractions & Ordering Fractions Review Game. Students take on roles as Archers, Swordfighters, Catapult Soldiers, and - best of all - Monsters!
The Monsters travel through the classroom with a secret fraction, and the defenders of the castle state fractions to "attack." The Monsters have to identify their fraction as "higher", "lower", or "Equivalent." If they are not discovered, they take one more step toward the back of the room - and winning the game!
The PowerPoint presentation explains all the rules of the game, and includes notes on gameplay for the teacher. A GREAT activity to return to when you have a few extra minutes in your elementary class or middle school math class.
