A person’s decision about what to purchase can be broken down based on a variety of demographics such as income, age, gender, and level of education. Defining a target market by collecting its demographics reduces the guesswork many entrepreneurs face when defining a business venture. Clearly defining the target market is the foundation to creating focused and effective marketing. Knowing who the customer is can also tell a business owner where to place the advertising message so the target market sees it and acts upon it. 

Instructions:  Your team will be provided with a magazine.  Working as a group, analyze the magazine and address the following information including demographics, geographics, and psychographics to create a customer profile of the reader. Present your findings to the class.
