The PowerPoint and handouts will be the basis of a fun class simulation where your World History students will be asked to change the course of Athenian history. They will take their places in the Athenian Assembly, nominating and voting on up to 20 laws that realistically reflect issues of Ancient Athens. Based on how they vote, there will be different outcomes for their "city-state." All of these outcomes are linked throughout the PowerPoint, so depending on what option they choose, they will be directed to a different result. Their class will earn "City-State Points" and you can have classes compete against each other to see who can guide their government to a better result.
I include a variety of copyrighted images from Google to enhance the PowerPoint when I show it to the class. However, so as not to infringe on copyrights, I have removed them for the TPT version. However, you can easily add them, or use the PowerPoint without images (it's still a lot of fun and kids have a great time regardless).
