What educators are saying

Since I serve as the Science Fair Chairperson, I used this simple experiment in the library to get kids excited about the upcoming school fair. It was awesome. They enjoyed it. Thanks!

Description

In this lab students can see the basic principles of density and buoyancy as raisins rise and fall in a beaker. This lesson includes a student lab worksheet and an 8 page Powerpoint that walks students through the lab, has links to videos, and closure questions at the end.

Materials needed: beaker, raisins, and clear soda such as 7 up or ginger ale. The same result would happen if you used water, baking soda, and vinegar instead of soda.
