This lesson uses density as a means to introduce convection. It includes extremely detailed step-by-step questioning (included in the notes sections of the powerpoint) to guided students through these potentially difficult concepts. Following each quesiton, there is the next step that often involves students drawing out particles, or labeling diagrams to flush out and solidify student understanding. While it was created to work in my student's Science Notebooks that they use daily in class, it could just as easily be used with notebook paper for notetaking.
Even though it is "just a powerpoint", it includes a demonstration, and follows much more as a lesson plan. I use this as one of my first "Weather + Climate" lessons, but it can "plug-and-play" in any number of other ways. I
