This is a science lab that was designed for 8th grade physical science. The objectives of this lab are for students to correctly calculate the density of two pieces of clay and to understand that density remains constant if the objects are made of the same material. This lab works well for all 8th graders, and was especially designed with special education students in mind. This lab/experiment is simple enough that most students learning about density could complete it. It goes through all steps of the scientific method, and the conclusions questions prompt students to explaining their learning in words.
