Product Description
In this activity, students measure mass and volume of earth materials to calculate the density of them. They use these calculated densities and compare them to the density of each Earth layer. Students will understand that density played a role in the formation of Earth's layers. Questions related to temperature and pressure are also included. Earth materials needed: igneous rocks: basalt, granite, minerals: quartz, samples: iron, nickel, and aluminum.
