Included with the reader is a comprehension page with written response.
Making Words Activities: There are two different making word activities. Students will create as many words as they can using either the word Dentist or the word Toothbrush. Letter tiles are included on the bottom of each worksheet for your students to cut and use, if needed. Possible words that could be created are also included for each word.
Sentence Scrambles: There are three sentences for students to unscramble. Each word and punctuation mark is on its own puzzle piece. Each sentence has a different puzzle shape. To use: cut out and place each sentence puzzle in a Ziploc bag. Students will choose a bag, unscramble the sentence and write it on the worksheet (provided). Also included is a center direction sheet.
The three sentences that students will unscramble are:
1. I will brush my teeth.
2. The dentist cleans my teeth.
3. I have a loose tooth.
Syllable Sort: Students will sort dental pictures by the number of syllables in the word (one or two). There are 12 syllable sorting cards, 6 one syllable words and 6 two syllable words. Two different versions of the cards are included, one with the words on them and one with just the pictures. Once students have sorted the words, they will write their responses on the worksheet (provided). Also included are sorting mats. This item could also be used as a write the room activity.
Writing Prompts: The first writing prompt is a sequencing/narrative writing prompt in which they write about how they brush their teeth. There are two different versions of this prompt, one with transitional words and one without. The second writing prompt has your students write about ways that they can take care of their teeth. There are two versions of this writing prompt, one with an illustration box and one with just writing lines.
