Little book: A Trip to the Dentist~ This book can be copied front to back if you flip it on the short side. After copying, simply fold the book in half and staple it together at the fold. Students read a story about Sally and her visit to the dentist while learning about keeping teeth healthy.
Let’s Get a Healthy Smile: Printable (Read, cut, and glue)~ Students read a simple sentence. They cut and glue the dental health picture to match the sentence.
Informational Writing Activity: Healthy Teeth~ Students use a circle map to web ideas about keeping teeth healthy. They can use these ideas to write a factual paragraph to inform others about keeping teeth healthy. Paper is provided for this writing with a place for an illustration.
Personal Narrative Writing Activity: Losing a Tooth~ Students can use the provided event sequence organizer to jot down a few key words about loosing a tooth. Transition words have been provided in the boxes to help them with the sequence of events. If you have students that have not yet lost a tooth, they could write about what they hope will happen.
Tooth Fairy Bump: (Both 2 and 3 addends games are included)~ Students can play this fun addition game with a “Tooth Fairy” theme. Students can complete an addition facts practice sheet after playing the game. Two sheets are included: adding two numbers and adding three numbers.
Healthy Tooth Craftivity~ Students make a cute healthy tooth character and write one fact.
Posters~ Posters to help you teach key words associated with dental health. Color and black and white copies are included.
Healthy Teeth/ Unhealthy Teeth Sort~ Students cut out pictures of foods and decide if they will help them have healthy or unhealthy teeth.
Graphing Activity: Teeth We've Lost~ This graphing activity begins with a whole class picture graph about the number of teeth each student has lost. Students convert this data into a bar graph and a tally table. Students then answer questions about the data.
Dental Health Quiz~ This ten question quiz includes true/false statements and fill in the blank sentences to show students’ understanding of dental health.
