One of the best ways to work with Depths of Knowledge (DOK's) as you pursue Common Core-aligned objectives is to enlist students in understanding the differences between questions at each level. When students know DOK levels, they can ask better questions and engage in more sophisticated self-assessment of their progress.
This file has three handouts:
1. A description of DOK's for your students
2. An organizer that you can use with any content or presentation for students to write questions at different DOK's
3. A sheet for self-assessment, debates, and discussions that allows students to tally the number of questions heard or made at each DOK
