PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Students use the limit definition of the derivative to translate from one type of notation to the other. Students do three things:

- Given a function and a value of c write two versions of the limit definition of f' (c) (traditional, where h --> 0, and alternative, where x --> c)
- Given the traditional limit definition of a derivative, identify the function and the value of c, and translate to the alternative limit definition.
- Given the alternative limit definition of a derivative, identify the function and the value of c, and translate to the traditional limit definition.
