Thank you for downloading this activity. There are many things that students with special needs need to learn before they graduate from school. One of my top priorities this year is community safety. Students and individuals need to be aware of their surroundings, as well as know what buildings in the community are for.
With that being said, this activity provides an opportunity for students to explore their community and learn what each building or locations function is, what it provides to the public, and what they can expect to there.
This activity can be used in a number of ways. One way that I prefer is to print all of the pages, laminate the pages, put the pages in clear sheet protectors, add Velcro, and then have the students match the picture of location items to the location. This keeps the activity neat and in one location. If pages get destroyed it is easier to replace a clear sheet protector. There are 16 separate locations and 6 pictures to match to each location.
You could also separate this activity into multiple file folders, this will also simplify the activity so students are only focusing on two locations at one time. The possibilities are endless!
