Do some of your students have difficulties describing, classifying, naming,..etc..? Practicing Descriptive language can help students describe vocabulary in many ways (group, function, attributes, touch, place,..etc..). The “Describing Nouns” visual is great for expanding descriptions and great for speaking and writing about vocabulary! This activity pack will help target descriptions receptively and expressively!-Card Game:
Students will draw cards and use the “Describing Nouns” visual to describe each item (or they can use the Suite Key to express one description).
Student will pick two cards and express similarities and differences between two items using the “Describing Nouns” visual. Then they will fill out a follow-up Venn diagram.
Describe it and Guess!
Students will draw a card and use the “Describing nouns” visual to describe the items and have the other group members or therapist guess which item they are describing! Then students will fill in the blank “describing nouns” graphic organizer as a follow-up activity.
Students will take turns rolling a dice and moving along the board while drawing a card and describing it for each turn!

*There are many different games to play:
War, Go Fish, Guessing game, Board game, Chose a card and use the “Describing Nouns” Key!, Compare and Contrast objects using “Describing Nouns” visual aid!
-You can have the students pick a card and describe the noun on that card using the “Describing Nouns” visual aid! You may also have the students use the “describing” Suit/Number Key to simplify the game so the student is only expressing one descriptor per turn.
