This pumpkin topic board can be used in conjunction with AAC or as a visual for students with expressive and/or receptive language difficulties.
Activity: Pick a Pumpkin
For this activity, I bring a bag of small pumpkins and gourds and start by selecting 1-2 examples from my bag and previewing the describing vocabulary. Then I have the student select his/her own pumpkin or gourd tell me about the it. This can also be done in a small group.
Activity: Pumpkin/Gourd Show-and-Tell
This topic board can also be used to do a pumpkin/gourd “show-and-tell” to help students with presenting to a group.
