PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

In this lesson, students develop higher-level thinking skills through reading and writing as well as solving a real-world slope-intercept problem. This problem is not only challenging but relevant to student's daily life. Encourages cooperative learning in math centers or pairs.

As math teachers it is very difficult to find resources that encourage our math students to read and write on topics that are relevant to them. This learning activity combines all of these strategies.
Student must read passages and stop to write (“Quick Write” & Summary) to express higher-level strategies and thinking.
