This presentation contains a 50 slide, power point presentation with a hand out paper, a great activity and some teacher’s notes. This can be a two-hour activity or it can easily be split into two one-hour lessons.

This lesson teaches the correct order of describing objects and things. It focuses on going from the general definition to the specific.
I’ve created this presentation for ESL students, but I’ve used it with great success with elementary kids as well.
This lesson includes:
- Description order of things
- Describing an object by comparison
- Describing objects with more than one use
- Describing objects with many parts
- Practicing the description of complicated objects
- After the students understand how to describe an object, we turn the lesson into a guessing game. The students need to use the same describing skills in the form of leading questions in order to discover what an object is.
- The activity includes a series of objects to guess with a clock that counts down 4 minutes.
- There are two groups of 10 objects, a low level one and a higher level one, to allow you to use the same lesson with different levels of classes.
This lesson is part of a four-lesson series which includes:
‘Describing things’, ‘Describing people’, ‘Describing places’ and ‘Describing feelings
It’s also sold as a part of a bundle: “learning to describe”

PLEASE: My lessons are proof-read by me, (but more importantly, by more serious and intelligent critics) However, it’s been our experience that there’s always something that we miss… if you find a mistake or feel that there is room for improvements, please let me know in the "Ask a Question" section (rather than rate the entire document badly), I promise to fix it immediately and you’ll have my deepest gratitude.
