Students visually analyze Frederick Sandys' MORGAN LE FAY and write an "elevated" descriptive essay. Students interpolate SAT vocabulary, introductory adverbial clauses, and introductory participial phrases into their descriptive essays to produce a more "elevated" essay. This activity includes 50 SAT words (defined and with parts of speech), teacher instructions, teacher overview, Sandys' artwork in color, student instructions, and essay rubric. I have used this assignment for many years, and students have written some amazing essays. Enjoy!
