Students explore descriptive writing and good descriptions in this hands-on activity. They will draw a beast (or monster/ alien/ creature) and write a detailed description. From that description, their classmate(s) will attempt to recreate the beast. Then the original drawing is compared.
Activity includes instructions for use as a one-day activity or a mutli-day activity. The mutli-day works great as a filler, with students drawing from new descriptions and/ or writing new descriptions after they have finished their work.
Student instructions are available in two formats: a single page student instruction sheet (designed for use as a one day project) or a series of three templates (designed for use with the multi-day method, but works great for both.)
Discussion/ Reflection questions included.
File is a single file PDF.
