If your class is reading A Walk in the Desert or learning about desert life, this set of six literacy centers will be perfect for your language arts or Daily Five instruction! Printer friendly black and white centers (except for one colored photo center) integrate science concepts of animal life and habitats while reinforcing language arts skills. Included are the following centers:
Hidden Words Center: Students must use a hand-held microscope to find and record the names of desert life (animal and plant) hidden in a colorful picture.
Question or Statement Sort: Students will sort sentences missing end marks according to whether they are statements or questions. Then, they must rewrite the sentences with the correct end marks.
Noun Sort: Students must sort nouns according to whether they are people, places or things. Recording sheet included.
Writing Center: Includes five writing prompt papers with sentence starters, animal pictures to color, and a list of words to use.
Antonyms Match: Students will match the antonyms and record them on an answer sheet.
Consonant Blends Sort: Students must sort words according to their blends of either str, br, sk, or ck. Recording sheet is included.
Easy and quick to prepare for use. Just print & laminate these ready-made learning stations for easy grammar, phonics, and writing practice!
