The Design: Introduction and Planning Pages for the Design Cycle is a product that was created to allow students to understand what design is, types of design, the design cycle, and allows them to go through a guided process of creating their own project. You can use this product to introduce the concept of design then give them a topic to work with (such as designing your own map for a specific purpose after learning about mapping and elements of maps in socials studies) or let them choose a topic of their choice or passion.

This Design product introduces design and the design cycle, then the pages that proceed follow the design cycle and are templates to use to allow students brainstorm, research, plan and create their projects. There is a rubric, variety of ways to present their projects and a self-assessment/teacher assessment element as well. You can choose to use all the pages in this product, or pick and choose from them depending on the project the students are using at the time.

This is a great product for those that are beginning to teach design in their classrooms and want a guided approach to allow students to understand design in depth, or to supplement your design class with template pages that you can pick and choose from.

ALIGNED TO NEW BC CURRICULUM! This meets the big ideas, curricular competencies and content of British Columbia's New Curriculum.
