Design Your Own Playground: A Culminating Project

This project based learning experience is great for early finishers, anytime you are in need of an independent project, or a wonderful way to wrap up the school year. Students are provided with a series of tasks meant to guide them in planning for the creation of their dream playground.

Included are:
-A research portion
-Three writing tasks (a persuasive letter, opening day speech, and narrative)
-Three math tasks (measurement, budget, and perimeter/area)
-Mapping task
-An art task
-A science task (force and motion)
-Speaking task (giving the speech to the class along with their visuals)
-A poster project to tie it all together and show off their learning
-A rubric for the project
