Students will learn about the engineering design process at an overview level. They will then spend the rest of the week learning in depth about the “ask” portion. This includes being able to define a problem, create a scientific question, determine constraints and discover how others have attempted to solve the problem. The challenge for the unit will be to design a device or tool that can be used without humans in an candy factory to make sure the bags weigh the amount they are supposed to.
