In this project students create a themed island (2d or 3d) to demonstrate knowledge of landforms, vegetation and climate zones. While this project is engaging due to its creative nature, it also forces students to examine the relationship between physical features, climate and vegetation. There is a writing piece as well in which students define and give examples of each feature/zone. Rubrics for each section are provided. In my end-of-the-year questionnaires, students consistently rank this as one of their favorite assignments.
