Product Description
Students will use their creative side to design a “hangout” location of their dreams while incorporating the skills they’ve developed finding area and perimeter

Students will create a floor plan for their hangout location. They will need 8 rooms in the location. There will be 2 square rooms, 2 rectangle rooms, 2 triangle rooms, and 2 parallelogram rooms. Each room will be labeled with measurements and a theme (i.e. arcade, pool, movie theatre, basketball court, etc.) After drawing and labeling all the rooms, students will find the perimeter and the area of each room and the area and the perimeter of the whole location.

Students can complete this project on graph paper, plain white paper, or construction paper. Most students prefer the graph paper so they can visually see the lengths of the sizes and have a concrete measurement system.
