This resource is a fun way to quickly test student’s ability to create simple experiments using superstitions they’ve heard their whole lives. This resource comes with a built in example and allows students to choose which tale they would like to test.
As a teacher, you can scaffold this assignment by assigning specific tales. As a whole group, you can fill in the first box identifying the variables needed in each experiment. Then students can practice their conclusion writing by summarizing the experiment. You could extend this assignment further by giving student’s data to include in their conclusion writing that supports or refutes the hypothesis/tale.
