Need a fun activity for the winter holidays? Students love creating "Elf Glyphs" based on things they will be doing during the holidays/winter break. Students simply select appropriate colors to color an "Elf Glyph" by responding to a set of directions. You can also use this as a time for your students to practice speaking in front of a large group by having partners go to the front of the room and tell the class 3 things they learned about their partner by observing the elf glyph. Finally, you will have something festive to display on your classroom bulletin board.
Older students will love being able to read the set of directions while working independently. Younger students will be able to complete this activity with oral directions by the teacher.
