If your school is transitioning to Common Core, these differentiated Common Core activity cards will make the transition even smoother. Common Core standard RL.1 wants students to answer questions about details in the text. Two printable, easy-fold boxes are also included. Place a box in a literacy center station. Send home a box with a student that needs extra practice.
Two reading levels are included in this document to make teaching reading comprehension and Common Core to different ability students so much easier.
The first sixteen cards use picture prompts, basic sight words, and repeated text to help students LEARN beginning reading as well as give students practice with using text information to answer questions.
The second fourteen cards contain basic word family and sight word sentences for emerging readers to gain practice with details and reading sentences.
The activity cards also include an easy-fold printable box for storage too!
Use these differentiated task cards to cover the Common Core Standards and review beginning reading skills at the same time. The cards are great as an independent Common Core literacy center.
