This worksheet is specifically designed to be used with the introduction to the novel "The Other Wes Moore." After students read the introduction in class, they will find a quote from the pages that best conveys Moore's purpose for writing the novel. They will then copy the quote down, and then, in their own words, analyze what it means and explain how it connects to Moore's purpose. The second part of this activity is to be completed in pairs. The directions are as follows: Now, meet with a partner and share your quotes with each other. If your partner has a different quote, write it below and then determine who has a stronger quote and why. If you both have the same quote, discuss why you both chose this quote
