Determining the Age of a Tree Without Cutting

This product is intended for use with middle to high school aged students in the classroom or homeschool. It is designed to supplement an environmental science program or general science ecology unit. It requires outdoor work, either on school grounds, if tree variety is available or to a nearby woodland or arboretum. It is a 8 page handout. The only extra materials required are a local tree field book and a tape measure.
