This resource is useful in any third grade classroom, but has been specifically created to meet Common Core RI.3.4:
“Determine the meaning of general academic and domain-specific words and phrases in a text relevant to a grade 3 topic or subject area.”
Each slide falls between a 3.0 and 4.0 reading level, according to the Flesch-Kincaid Readability Index

There are a number of ways to use this PowerPoint in your classroom.
As a Teaching Tool:
Go over each question as a group discussing each answer option. Focus on teaching students how to eliminate answers that have no possibility of being true. This will help with testing when the time arrives.
Divide your class into two teams. Go back and forth giving each team every other slide. Each team must work together decide on the answer.
Write the answer on an answer sheet, then self check when the slide is clicked a second time.
