Teach your students to create awesome characters using sensory details! This printable can be used as a writers workshop mini-lesson, in centers, or as homework. Use this as a part of any writing to remind students that sensory details make any piece of writing come alive. The students read a model paragraph and identify evidence that support the use of sensory details. After reading the model paragraph, the students also create their mental image of the character. As a culminating activity, the students create their own paragraph using a character of choice and use sensory details to make the character come alive. For fun, students may pass them around and also attempt to create a mental image of the peer’s writing.
