Developing Positive Self Esteem: Optimist/Pessimist Task Cards Lemonade Edition

Developing self confidence and creating a positive self esteem is very important. This activity was created to help students see the difference between being optimistic or pessimistic and how it can impact their thinking.

This is one of a set of 3 different themed task cards that are meant to be used to encourage discussion about optimists and pessimists. The tasks are the same for each of the sets. There are also some blank task cards and response cards so that you can create your own situations for discussion.

The goal is to be able to understand how an optimist or a pessimist might react in certain situations. The responses can be either written or drawn responses.

These cards are meant to be used after teaching what an optimist or pessimist is. I usually use Tigger and Eeyore as examples when I teach this concept.

Hopefully this will be a good springboard for discussions in your classroom.
