PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

*This assignment can be applied to any novel, novella, or short story* One of the most essential practices for students to utilize while reading anything is to evaluate their relation to the text. This act transforms passive readers into active ones who look for textual reflections of their own lives and ask questions to give the story relevance. In short, they need to constantly ask various versions of the “So what?” question. This worksheet will help your students develop their reflective and questioning skills while reading their novels. This is a simple assignment that can be coupled with other projects without overwhelming your students. It can also be used with short stories, so it’s flexible enough to make its point without a lot of time investment. It won’t take much class time beyond your introduction of the assignment.
