Teaching students to locate nonfiction books is a hard task. When students visit the library for nonfiction books, I send the nonfiction cheat sheet to the teacher the day before. This is shown to the students before they travel to our library. Each student makes two or three notes regarding Dewey categories he or she might like. This keeps all of the students from starting in the 000 section and spreads everyone out all over the library. I've also included a couple of nonfiction worksheets that can be used to reinforce library skills. There is a fiction section as well for teaching students how to put books in order.
