Looking for Library games to use on your SMART Board?
This is a game for identifying the Dewey Decimal numbers of nonfiction books. Students read the title of a book and tap on the correct Dewey Decimal number, using their hand (or a fly swatter). Correct answers result in a splotch of color appearing, along with a satisfying “splat” sound! There is no feedback for incorrect answers.
A Dewey chart is included, that you can print out for students, or display on the SMART Board. Although the activity is self-correcting, there is an answer key (on the last page, after THE END…so students shouldn’t see it too readily).
