This is a 27 page book study on the text Dexter the Tough. I included a variety of comprehension questions, which include, but are not limited to: visualizing, predicting, making connections, story elements, sequencing, and character traits. This packet also contains a vocabulary section that requires the student to think about the vocabulary word and determine its meaning from context, define it, draw a picture to remember it, and use the new word in a sentence.
This unit has a variety of questions and activities in order to make differentiation easier. Each student is given a comprehension packet. We read the story out loud in small groups and the students worked on the questions as we read or independently. The student novel study packets were all differentiated, according to text level.
