Dia de Los Muertos, also known as Day of the Dead is actually a celebration of life! This tradition comes to the US by way of Mexico, where it takes place on All Saints and All Souls Day. This is a time to remember and honor those that have passed with flowers, favorite foods, special breads, artwork, and altars.
The art associated with this day is filed with color, design, and humor. It is not meant to frighten! Here is a great way to bring multicultural art and knowledge to students. With scans at 300 dpi you can blow up the black line images to use for coloring. The colored files make great clipart. Use as you wish, but do not resell as clipart please. Citation is appreciated. Have fun!
