This includes a 19 slide Powerpoint about Altars / Ofrendas for Day of the Dead. Then, students are given a simple worksheet, where theys practice their Spanish and remember a loved one with a Day of the Dead altar. Students will write food words, adjectives, verbs, and dates (and color!).
There are two versions... one in English for Spanish 1 students or English speakers. The other one is in Spanish for Sp. 2 and 3 students.
When students are looking up words, I tell them to use www.wordreference.com instead of Google translate.
This project, that only needs coloring utensils, could take 45 minutes to complete.
