Agamographs provide a fun unique way of viewing art. My students are fascinated and get so excited with this art idea.
This resource is a hands-on Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) themed activity that combines two separate images into one are piece, which the viewer can then see – from different angles - each picture independently.
This activity involves coloring-in, cutting, gluing and folding. You will require; coloring-in materials (pencils, felts, etc), scissors, glue-sticks.
This resource has 5 Dia de los Muertos themed images (‘DIA DE LOS MUERTOS’, marigold, sugar skull, blank skull and altar), paired into all 10 combinations to put together and create the agamograph.
This resource is excellent for creating a quick piece art to display.
There are two levels of challenge;
1. the final image is composed of 8 strips (4 strips for one Dia de los Muertos image and 4 strips for the other), suitable for younger students
2. the final image is composed of 16 strips (8 strips for one Dia de los Muertos image and 8 strips for the other)
I have also included blank templates for students to create their own two images to combine.
