Easy way to start a new intermediate data management unit, and fully engage the students. I used this by having few leader oriented students, who volunteered to ask the questions aloud to the class, do just that. Students recorded the results and then once we confirmed all our numbers matched up, aside from the opinion based data question about annual salary.....the students carried out this task on graph paper. The hardest part of this task is choosing the 3 pieces of data that could be reasonably arranged, managed and organized into one graph, that makes sense. It requires students to think beyond the basics, and will help you determine what they already know about data management.
