Students write what they know on various topics, i.e. greetings, how to say what you like, family, etc. and complete a listening comprehension activity on numbers and classroom commands. This is meant to be used as a diagnostic to see what students already know before year starts. It can also be used to gauge how students are doing at the end of the year. It is very open ended. I.e. Write all the ways you could respond to "¿Cómo estás?" so that students can showcase their knowledge. This can be used for Spanish or for other languages.
