Do you love the idea of an interactive notebook? Or do your children need additional practice on a certain skill and like “interactive” activities? Do you like to have “morning work” for your children? These interactive diagraph booklets will be just the “ticket” for your little ones!
Specifically, you will find these word families in this packet:
-beginning, middle and ending ph
Each of the above word family booklet will contain the following activities:
-a cover page
-stamp or rainbow write the word family words
-a different word map with interactive “flaps” for each the diagraphs. For instance, showers with an umbrella and raindrops for sh; a white paint bucket and paint splashes for wh, etc. (cut and paste activity)
-Make a flap page; again each of the diagraphs have the flap as something that contains that diagraph. Word to picture match (cut and paste activity)
-Spin, Read, Color and Write activity (uses a paperclip for a spinner!)
-Flower Power! Interactive Flower/flap word writing activity (cut and paste)
-Finish the sentence with the correct word (cut and paste)
-Sorting activity to sort words with the diagraph form those without (cut and paste)
-extra “parts/pieces” pages to create finished product
My kids love doing word work that is interactive. It repeats the activities so that once the children do a booklet, they can do the rest of the diagraphs independently! Great for morning work (doing one page a day) or as a literacy center activity.
The student can take the finished booklet home. Or you can have them attach the finished booklet into an interactive notebook, for reference and practice reading the words even after the booklet is completed! This is what I have my children do! They love getting it back out and reading all the words! Many of them have become fluent with the words and no longer have to sound them out when reading them!
