This is a slightly more advanced exercise for students who feel comfortable reading in Spanish. I use it with my heritage speakers in 2nd grade, but it could easily work for older novice learners. I ask my students to read the dialogue once independently, then pair them with a partner to read it aloud. Afterwards, I ask the class questions about what happened in the conversation. They can either write down their answers to turn in (for a more formal assessment) or answer the questions orally (for a more informal approach). This activity fits into a unit about food, the verb "gustar", flavors, and restaurant role play.
