In this activity, students will create a journal for an escaping slave. They will imagine the preparations needed and the dangers slaves faced when trying to escape. It covers many benchmarks because each page includes a different activity. It can be adjusted to fit your grade level. Students love being creative and really putting themselves in the position of the slave.
